The final method and schedule follow your agreed scope, the selected materials and the site conditions.
Measure and confirm compatibility
Review the substrate, height variation, finish floor and heating layout. Product choice depends on the actual assembly and required thickness.
Prepare and prime
The surface is prepared and cleaned, with edges, openings and movement joints addressed. The correct primer is applied according to the selected underlayment instructions.
Mix and place
Material is mixed to the specified water ratio and placed within its working time. Heated-floor coverage and thickness must follow the approved system; electrical checks are coordinated with the responsible installer.
Cure before covering or heating
The next flooring stage waits until the prescribed conditions are met. Heating startup follows the heating and underlayment manufacturers’ schedules.

Your scope identifies the substrate preparation, primer, selected underlayment, planned heights and next flooring stage. For heated floors, responsibilities for heating installation and testing are confirmed separately. You receive curing and next-stage guidance; the underlayment is not automatically a decorative finished floor.
Before scheduling, confirm the materials, included work, exclusions, access needs and expected timing in your estimate. The recommendations for your property are confirmed during the assessment.
Can any self-leveling product be poured over heating mats?
No. Compatibility, substrate, minimum coverage and heating startup requirements vary by product and heating system. The actual assembly must be confirmed before installation.
